Hi everyone, hoping somebody can help..

My lovely sil has just been offered a new job its a telesales role and she has just received her contract which stats a salary of x but then stats that the salary will only be paid subject to all targets been met.

Just wondered if they are allowed to do this.

Thanks in advance xx

They have to pay her at least minimum wage for the hours she works, so if she doesn't meet her targets they'd have to at least do that.

Does it say what happens if she doesn't meet her targets? Is there a basic minimum salary and then commission, or some kind of sliding scale? Presumably they're not literally saying she either meets targets or doesn't get paid at all?

Thank you for your reply Wink

It states on the offer letter salary is 12480 this is subject to all targets being met...

It just sounds a bit dodge!

Well as long as she gets minimum wage it's perfectly legal, however she should ask for clarification about what pay is if targets are not all met, so she is fully informed about what the situation is. It might be that there's a sliding scale of x deducted for missing target by x amount, or something, but she needs to understand how it works.
