Divorce & settlement / collaborative law

Hello

This is my first post even though been looking at this site for a long time.

We started collaborative law but I really feel bullied around the table. I have a lot of complicated financial arrangements which are difficult to understand but we won't get much out of divorce. I decided to do divorce myself because lawyer was going to charge a lot when I did it for £410. My stbx agreed last week that he would go for an amount. I think it is a good deal rather than go through courts / solicitor etc... Question is, how do we make this agreeable to courts? Do we still need to submit form e? Do we go through collaborative solicitors & what if they advise not to do it? I just want him gone so me & 2 daughters can get on with our futurs...

Thanks for any advice

I'm sorry you've not had a good experience doing it collaboratively.

Did you speak to your lawyer about your concerns?

PM me if you want to go in to more detail, but if you have reached an agreement that you are both happy with you need to draw up a consent order that is put before the court for approval. Your solicitors can draw this up for you both.

It remains the role of both solicitors to reality test the proposed settlement for you both, and point out some pitfalls that you may not be aware of. A collaborative solution is very much client lead though, so I'm sure they'll be able to sort it out for you.
