How do you administer (execute?) a will?

Hi

NC'd for this.

My grandmother, some time ago, appointed me as executor of her will. I'm the only relative she has in the UK that she gets on with and it made her happy for me to agree to this... So I agreed.

I am also a beneficiary (if that makes a difference).

Trouble is... I have NO idea what to do... Both after she dies (getting funeral arranged, who I have to tell, what I need i. Terms of certificates, where to get them etc etc)...and in ensuring her estate (I use the term loosely... I don't think it's worth much) is carried out according to her wishes.

I guess what I need is a step by step guide to what to do after she dies, and in what order, if that makes sense?

Can anyone help/point me in the direction of a link?

Any help is gratefully received.

Thanks

Even if named as an executor you can appoint a solicitor to do it all for you if easier.

Have a look on the probate service website.
