Hotter shoes - repair/refund

Hi,

Im hoping someone can tell me where I stand on this.

I have about 15 pairs of shoes from hotter. This morning when putting one on the buckle broke in my hands.

I have rung them, but because I cannot prove I bought it directly from them and not an outlet, they refuse to help. I cant remember where I bought them from :S

All I really wanted was a new buckle I would have been happy to attach it myself.

What confuses me is when I have bought Kingsmill bread in the past, from a supermarket, I have contacted kingsmill and they have refunded me. Not the supermarket. I cannot understand how this situation is any different?

Thanks for your help!

Can you find a buckle from elsewhere to attach to the shoes? You'd have to do both shoes tho.

Hi Next,

I probably could. But they are only 3 months old and have only been worn a few times so I really should have to.

Also I have bought the same shoe in a different colour for my wedding shoe, so i am now worried about that going on my wedding day :S

I am an online retailer so can only give my perspective. If you but a widget from me and that widget is faulty, your contract is with me - the retailer who you bought from. It is my responsibility to replace, repair or refund. If you go directly to my supplier they will send you back to me as they have no contract with you and are therefore not responsible.

In law the person who is liable is the person who sold it to you. Therefore if they didn't sell the shoes to you direct they're entitled to refuse liability.
