Does anyone know how I do this? Or what I need?

Its simply so that I can have my locum work paid to me.nothing complicated needed.

Do you earn enough to make it worth while having to register accounts with companies house or would you just be better off as a sole trader and do a tax return as such? As a sole trader you can issue invoices and be paid direct to you.

I would assume a sole trader, ill probably work for about 6 weeks earning about 700 pounds a week.

You should take advice, but sounds like no need to form company. The other thing about sole trader is you need to satisfy self employed criteria.

I think it has to be a ltd company, to allow a recruitment agency to pay me. Ahh any suggestions where to go for advice? Mumsnet is my usual source!!

R U a vet by any chance possibly getting locums through RIG if so PM I have some very important advice.

Companies House website is where you need to go.

Straight forward (ish) form to complete stating registered address and director(s) and estimated earnings.

Costs £15 admin fee.

You get a Company registered number within about 5 days (which you put on your letter heads etc)

The next bit (accounts) I have no idea about as I haven't sorted an accountant yet (have a friend who will do it but haven't sorted yet). I believe I have to submit my accounts next year 2014-15 as i set up in 2013-14 tax year.

Hope this helps

Plenty of companies will pay sole traders but if it is definitely a requirement then you can buy them from companies house. I think though it is hugely easier to go to a website like Jordans.co.uk where they will do everything for you, all the minutes, company books, name the company what you want it to be and then you take the whole thing readymade. It costs more but it's worth it rather than spending your own time doing something you aren't sure how to do or paying an accountant or lawyer per hour to do it.
