New shoes, unbearably painful

Should I take them back? They have a toe post which is agony. They have sort of glittery straps, and the glittery stuff is really sharp and digs in.

I have worn loads of toe posts and never had this before. I have only worn them in the house, but they are marked on the soles from walking on wooden floors.

Can I take them back? I just can't walk in them at all. I don't think they are fit for purpose.

If the glitter is sharp, that does seem unfit for purpose. If you run your finger over the glitter, does it feel sharp?

Yes, horribly sharp. Really cuts in

I would try your luck. Not sure how you stand with regards to getting your money back but worth a try. Suppose it'll depend on the shop and the manager.

I bought a pair of sandals from Next 2 summers ago and they literally ripped the skin off my feet. It was absolute hell. I'd worn them to do the school run which at the time was only 1 street away. I had to take them off to walk home and my toes were bleeding. I emailed them as I'd bought them online. They gave me a spiel about how they sell lots of the sandals and they were a standard design but they appreciated all feedback etc etc and asked me to send them back for tests. So I did. They still had half my toes attached Grin

In the end they contacted me to say the sandals were fine but as a goodwill gesture they were willing to refund them. They were the third pair of similar style I'd had from there and never had a problem. I have 2 pairs just now and both are fine too.

Not fit for purpose is a phrase that generally works too!

Then I think you could get the manager to run her/his finger over the glitter to confirm.

There is a review on the website where someone else had the same problems

Can you print out the review? Might be good if they try to say no one else has had any problems

Good idea!
