Desperately need to seek some legal advice - messy divorce already happened, having a nightmare sorting out assets after husband declares bankruptcy. Please let me know if I can PM you. Thank you in advance

Kate, I think it would be better if you just put some info into your post and then some of the lawyers will have a crack at helping. I don't speak for anyone else, but personally when people PM me it makes me feel that I'm personally responsible for their problems in the same way as it is in a client/solicitor relationship.

The lawyers on here (myself included) will bob on and off MN, answering threads as and when they have the time/inclination/expertise quite happily but don't necessarily want to get into a PMing marathon.

Okay, thanks for the reply mumble - is not for myself but will try and explain it as simply as possible.
Mum and dad divorced after 20 years of separation - sorting out assets and father has said that he has declared bankruptcy and so all assets have been frozen. Father has bought many expensive cars but put them in one of his sons names so that when it comes to court he can say that he has no assets - he has recently sold them, and actually sold one back to the son (who was the registered owner). Car worth in excess of around £8,000 but will have been done cash in hand - is there any way of proving that father is buying/selling privately when he is refusing to pay ex-wife money that he owes her (through other assets) and does not pay any child maintenance for his 5 children.

Thanks again - sorry, should have just explained in the first place. Really hoping that we can get some answers - it just all seems so unfair and he has already managed to pull the wool over other solicitors eyes.
