What do you want to do? Your son was admitted, given pain relief whilst they waited to be able to run the necessary tests. Operation was conducted - maybe the Surgeon was in other surgery before your sons. It is awful he is unwell, but I can't see what you want done, indeed what the hospital did wrong???

Sorry to hear your son has been so poorly.

If you want to make a complaint then you are best to contact PALS, is there a number for them anywhere you've seen in the hospital? If not it should be pretty easy to look up online.

It's difficult to diagnose appendisitis, especially in a child, and apparently 80% end in a rupture in a small child.
Dh had it 20 years ago. He was a perfect text book case, and had crowds of doctors coming to see him, because it is apparently quite rare to see a text book case.

Hope he is better soon.

Ive been reading up on burst apendix and a simple blood test is not enough to diagnose apedicitis also how a doc can come back and say the bloods where ok and wanted to test to see if he had a water infection i personal think more should of been done a 10 year old boy in so much pain he could not move or walk warrent looking in to not just popping back every few hours to check him and saying the surgons might look at him tomorrow he would of been dead by then they said he was very lucky because it was a right mess inside

When I was a kid it seemed if you had a bad stomach ache you went to hospital and within a couple of ours you were having our appendix whipped out.

They do seem to hang about a lot more these days and I assume there is a reason for this.

Next doors kid went to hospital with the same as our son a few years ago. Writhing about in agony apparently. Admitted, lots of tests and pain reflief and a wait and see approach. He was there for 5 days, they said it was grumbling and could go either way. Of needing an op or getting better. Then one day he woke p, felt fine and came home.

I think you need to ask the staff treating your son what happened. It may be that something changed just before the consultant came that made him realise an op was needed. His arrival may have been a coincidence. Or it may be the other staff weren't experienced enough to realise which is a concern and could do with being flagged up.

Are you posting in legal because you're considering suing?

. That's a full stop. So's that.

bur we had to wait for a surgon and 9 hours after arriving the surgon finally turned up

This seems to be the crux of the problem, that you are not happy that your son had to wait so long to be assessed by a surgeon, right? Everything else seems perfectly reasonable to be honest.

So if you want to 'take it further' then go through PALS at the hospital to ask why there was a delay. It may well turn out to be due to the surgeon having more urgent cases to deal with first, which is frustrating for you, but not negligent. If it turns out that the surgeon was having a lie in, followed by a slap up breakfast, then off for a round of golf, before finally seeing your son, then obviously that's unsatisfactory.
