Caveats to stop will getting grant of probate?

Long hideous story, the short version is that my grandmother died in Jan 09 and left a will that my aunt is contesting. She has now entered the 6th caveat to stop the probate process continuing and is doing nothing to solve ther question of the validity of the will. How many of these caveats can she enter? Surely these cannot be applied indefinately...
Thanks for taking the time to look.

I think normally when a caveat is entered, once the application for probate is submitted, the person entering the caveat is notified and at that point they need to give reasons for why it should not be granted (e.g. the Will is invalid because the deceased did not have capacity, or whatever). Has anyone actually submitted an application for probate?

There is some useful information here.

Sorry for not replying sooner... life! No, the caveat was entered before the forms were submitted and she hads made no real attempts to resolve the issues. Her solicitors have now declined to continue working for her, we don't know why and that was last summer.
