benefit fraud (minor) housing need help

Hello
A young friend in her 20's has been on the dole for a while after loosing her job and stupidly covered a couple of shifts after being bullied into it by her mum. Being controlled by her mum rather a lot she didnt declare it as it would make possible issues for the work place.
Anyway she got caught out and cautioned for fraud and had her benefit suspended. She felt awful as she wanted to declare and admitted it right off.

Because of this situation she has rebelled (finally) against her very over bearing mother who is now literally making her life hell. She is pretty much homeless right now but her mother will not write an eviction notice - takes all her job seekers for rent so she cant get to interviews etc and makes it clear she is not welcome at her home.
How long does her caution prevent her getting housing benefit? Or would it if she did actually not have anywhere to live? Would she be helped with housing?

Any advice would be great, in the big scheme of frauds hers was pretty minor and I feel for her as her mother is just being so bloody awful. Obviously this counts for nothing, she did wrong and deserves her punishment: she is just at her wits end

Thank you in advance

Apologies, i don't know the actual answers.. but has she been to CAB? - They may be able to ring the Council and find out re. Housing benefit, they will also be able to find out about any local Youth support set ups in the area.

Not a great deal of help i know, but it's a thought!

If theres one thing that is certain, it's that a good friend with a big heart and a listening ear (or two) is invaluable! Smile
