Can anyone tell me what rights there are for mothers (me) regarding grandparents visiting rights - do they have any rights or is it purely up to the parent to make the decision on who my DD see's?

thank you in advance

Not a lawyer, but I think it is down to parents to decide unless it goes to Court - grandparents don't have an automatic right to see grandchildren.

I am a solicitor. Grandparents have the right to raise proceedings and the court will award contact if it is in the best interests of the child. It (usually) is in their best interests to maintain contact with paternal relatives, but obviously each case turns on it's own merits and circumstances. Best if you consult with a solicitor and see if matters can be resolved amicably. Good luck!
