Is it acceptable for my dp exs solicitor to ring him at work and question him about a letter he has written regarding supervised contact for their ds? then clearly state that his client will get what she wants in court. bearing in mind she only has supervised contact with ds due to physical abuse (she accepted 2 cautions, section 47) only wants to see him when it suits her. dp does not have a solicitor as abuse was soo bad didnt think the court would agree to her having unsupervised contact. now not so sure as of the way her solicitor spoke to dp. any advice. cafcas involved and have a social worker.

Not a legal bod, but my understanding was that any contact with a non-client had to be written - particularly in the circumstances you describe.

That's not correct. Nothing to stop the solicitor ringing him (good grief - let's not prevent effective communication here) but the solicitor shouldn't take advantage of the fact that they are dealing with a litigant in person and try and inflate their client's chances of success, thereby intimidating a litigant in person.

I too am a litigant in person and in this situation would write to the ex's solicitor to clarify the telephone conversation, mentioning everything said during the phone call. Also stating that in future ALL contact from the solicitor to your dp MUST be via letter of email. Send it recorded/signed for.
I know correspond with my ex's solicitor via email and they do the same.
