Made redundant on maternity leave - can an employment lawyer help me?

Please help!

My team is being restructured as of the 1st of November. 11 positions are "at risk" and mine is one of them. There are other positions I can apply for but they are being advertised company-wide and enternally, and are not a direct fit to my skill set.

It says on directGov that "If you are made redundant whilst on Statutory Maternity Leave then you have special rights. You have the right to be offered any suitable alternative job in the company. This is even if there are other employees that might be more suitable for the job. If you are offered a new job, you are still entitled to the four-week trial period, which should start when you return from Statutory Maternity Leave."

My maternity leave finishes on the 29th of November. This is after the 4-week consultation process. Does my employer, legally have to do as it says above?

Meant to add my head of department hopes it will be done and dusted and the new structure in place by the 2nd of December. Could they argue my old job still exists on the 29th of November, allowing them to wriggle out of offering me a suitable alternative job?
