neighbours dog fouling our lawn - what can i legally do?

long story short our wonderful neighbour sold her house which is now being rented out by the new owner. a young couple have moved in and they have a small dog. they moved in two weeks ago and since then we have been tormented with dog poo on our front lawn. i asked the neighbour about it and she denies its her dog. we have lived here 5 years and not had a problem until now. if it continues to happen what can i do. we have two children under two and im scared to death they will pick it up before i see it.

Is it not practical to fence in your garden?

Otherwise pop a camera up, catch the dog in action and show the neighbours.

Put up a small fence, unless it is a big jumpy type dog! DH put a small rocky outcrop, complete with flowers at the corner of our front lawn as next door kept driving his car over the corner. He doesnt anymore unless he wants serious damage! DH is very anal about his lawn! A fence prevents any need for confrontations so thats my advice.

If its legal you want check with the local council about dog fouling laws. Its illegal and you can inform the dog warden...but agro, agro, agro

not bothered about the agro from the neighbours i mean. it wont bother me if they dont talk to me i have enough friends from my other neighbours. in fact another neighbour saw the precious mut on our lawn doing its business so if i find it again ill be looking for someones head on a block lol

Collect it up in bags and return it to the owners for their disposal.

I'm having the same problem. This is an open plan estate and we're not allowed to put up front gates, so there is an opening to my front garden. I'm certain it's the neighbour's dog across the way and my HA say I need evidence.

Hmmm, I read somewhere (don't know how true it is though) that dogs hate pepper (the stuff you have on dinners etc) get a big pot and sprikle it around, or by a water super jet pump action cannon pistol and squirt it everytime it comes on your garden, it will get the message, dogs aren't thick even if the owners are!!!

Your local council should have a dog warden, try them for advice.
