Another thread...

ANyway, been advisedto instruct a solicitor, been looking at fees to getting to various stages (6 odd thousand) which we just don't have. Because it is my son who it is all about, can he get legal aid?

depends what the case is all about.

Generally speaking, if it's a PI/Medical Neg type case, he would often qualify on finances but the more important thing is whether the LSC consider he has a strong case. If not, then they won't fund it.

If a Children Act case and he needs separate representation via a Guardian, then the LSC will fund the child/Guardian's legal representation.

That is LSC? Thanks :) It's neglect. I think we have a strong case... the police are coming later to take a statement too.

Hope you get some help (I've namechanged since your previous threads)

so so so much better, been there since last monday, he is a different boy. He has sticker charts, they have detailed charts for me to take home weekly, they have a shower, loads of toilets... he has even started to take himself for a poo ShockShock Today was bring a pet to school day, not long back with the dog Grin Police have just gone, they are getting someone from child protection to get all the details. Thank god I wrote alot on MN as it was happening from Sept. and took a few pics.

Oh that is so fantastic to read ASLD :) really happy for you and your DS! x

And of course the fact he's doing better now further shows just how much the previous school were doing wrong.

mumblechum1 · 26/05/2011 22:24

Sorry, LSC is the legal services commission, the board which decides whether to grant public funding (used tobe legal aid)

So is this a bullying issue and are you suing the school?

Collaborate · 27/05/2011 07:34

Don't think the child gets LA for that. It's based on parental finances.

mumblechum1 · 27/05/2011 08:11

I agree Collaborate. I think it's only based on the child's circs when it's a PI type claim (didn't originally know what the claim was for - in fact not really sure now!)
