6 month client stealing clause in contract - thoughts?

hi there,
i work for a music school teaching keyboard to groups of kids on a saturday. After being there a year, I'm thinking of quitting - im building up my own private client base of students, the pay is pretty stingy and it takes up half the weekend (and too much family time - im a mum of 2yr old twins).
The parents of one of my students is also considering taking her child out of these classes. Her daughter is completing an exam syllabus in addition to the general group-tuition course through the music school, and they wont let her drop the general course and just complete the exam course, despite her advancing much futher than the general course. There isnt an alternative higher level group course for her transfer to either.....
Anyway, the parents have approached me, asking if I could teach their daughter privately, which I'd love to, but should I????!
My contract prevents me from taking the school's clients until 6 months after they have left (and I think even if I have stopped working there).
So, what are the risks and are they worth it on such a smale scale? Does it make a difference if I have left, and how can they prove any connections (and could they be bothered, just for 1 client???).

Your professional thoughts/experience welcomed.
