I have been employed since September and work 10 hours a week, am I entitled to holiday pay? BTW I have not been given a Contract, should I ask for one?

Yes you are on a pro rata basis and yes you should be given a contract.

The min holiday entitlement is 20 days plus 8 bank holidays for a full timer. If it is a forty hour week you will get 7 days per year.

Depends really on how many days the OP works a week. If OP works 5 days but for 2 hours a day, then the entitlement is 20 days.

If each day is worked 10 hours once a week, then I'd have thought it would be 4 days off. Basically, it's the equivalent to what OP would have worked in 4 weeks.

If the BHs don't fall on a day when you'd work then you don't get a day off in lieu.

Yes you get holiday, statutory minimum is 5.6 weeks a year. You are not specifically entitled to bank holidays but if your employer wants you to take them off they can be included in the 5.6 weeks. See here

Yes you should ask for a contract. You are entitled to at least a written statement of particulars see here, which is a list of the basic terms and conditions you are working under.

Resolution you are behind the times, the bank holiday problem for part-timers is now resolved Wink with a statutory minimum paid holiday of 5.6 weeks for all employees (which can include bank holidays).

pilates · 07/03/2011 20:29

I work two 5 hour days a week.

In that case you are entitled to 2 x 5.6 days off, so 11.2 days to be exact.

If your employer requires you to take bank holidays off and pays you for them then any bank holidays which fall on your normal working days will be taken out of that, leaving the rest to be taken as annual leave.
