Who can I complain to about the CSA or at least threaten them with?

Long story short, the CSA owe DH £1800. They wrote to him in Novemeber to say that they would send payment.

He rang them in January chase the payment, was told it had been put on hold, he rang back the following week, they said they headset sent it as they didn't know whether he wanted a cheque or bank transfer Hmm. He gave them his bank details, but no money has appeared.

He has phoned them every day for the past 10 days, and each time he is fobbed off, the person working on his case isn't there and they don't know when she will be back/he will "probably" get the money but they don't know when/he should ring back in 10 days to check progress etc etc ettc

Basically one lie after another, no record of calls, and no information.

They really don't seem to care, and despite dh's best efforts, he feels like he is banging his head against a wall. He is ringing them every day, and is no further forward than he was 4 months ago, infact he's worse off as calls to the CSA cost a fortune from a mobile.

Has anyone any ideas where we can go from here? Who we can threaten them with or we can speak to for advise? It's getting ridiculous now, and we really don't want to write off nearly £2k

TIA

Make a formal complaint. The website sets out when you should expect it to be dealt with.

I feat you may be right... Gonna have to settle down gor the long haul....

It's just so infuriating.

I think you should now contact your MP at his/her surgery and ask them to hurry it along.

Should be sorted within days.

I've been to my MP dozens of times, written to the chief executive 3 times, had my own specialist case worker, had a full-page article in the papers and I'm still owed over 20k. Don't phone them, put everything in writing. Write to the Longbenton office and ask for ALL the information they hold and quote the data protection act at them. Good luck!

Go straight to your MP. I did this only a fortnight ago and my case, which they've been arsing around with for 8 months, has now been resolved. Find your MPs email address (shoudl be on their webpage) and tell them the problem. They'll get straight on it, and the CSA has a special department to deal with parliamentary complaints. The woman that dealt with my claim was fantastic, and they're going to give me a £50 payment to acknowledge their cock up. Not quite the 2 grand I'm owed, but better than nothing

Once you have been through their formal complaint procedure go to your MP and get him/her to put you a complaint into the Parliamentary Ombudsman.

I would suggest you fill in their complaint form online now today. They generally respond within 48 hours to complaints.

Name the person who is avoiding your husband and ask for a call back not from the helpdesk (who are rubbish) but from the case worker or even better, her superviser.

Don't wait any longer. You could also say you want it to go straight to the Complaints Resolution Team - then you will get one person assigned to it and not loads of different people who don't know what they hell they are on about.

Good luck, keep us posted.
