Teacher being bullied by another teacher, what can she do?

Teacher A (female) used to go out with Teacher B(male)

Teacher A dumped teacher B

Teacher B starts going out with Teacher C(female)

Over a period of 3 months, Teacher A bully's teacher C; physically bumping into her, snide comments in the staffroom, laughing at her in the staffroom.

Teacher A also called Teacher C, the 'c' word infront of students who have signed statements confirming this, which have been given to the Deputy Head.

Teacher C decided to have a quiet word with Teacher A to ask her to stop. Teacher A verbally attacked her; told her all her friends/colleagues were laughing at her and that she was a teacher governor and she will see to it that Teacher C, has NO FURTHER PROMOTION.

Teacher B hears about this and decides to file a complaint on behalf of teacher C.

Teacher A confronts him and says that if he stops his complaint, she will stop bullying Teacher C, the WHOLE CONVERSATION WAS RECORDED ON IPHONE and copy given to Deputy Head.

Teacher C is very, very STRESSED
What can Teacher C do? The school have done nothing.

Thanks in advance.x

Teacher C should contact her union, for a start.

BelligerentGhoul · 15/02/2011 19:34

Teachers B and C should arrange a timetabled meeting with the head and give a written copy of all that has happened so far. The deputy head doesn't seem to have acted so go to the top.

If i was Teacher C i would insist that something is done or an official complaint will be made about head teacher for not acting on bullying.

Teacher C should speak to the Head and if immediate action isn't taken, go to the Chair of the Governors.

And in the meantime, start looking for another job - sounds like a poisonous atmosphere to work in.

As above.

Or

Teacher B and C (and anyone else who cares to join them) should confront Teacher A outside of school time / property and threaten to make her life hell if she continues her behaviour. I presume Teacher B knows a lot about Teacher A ie. home address, friend and family, personal life maybe even some deep dark secrets Grin so this would be a very real threat to Teacher A.

BelligerentGhoul · 15/02/2011 21:09

Confronting Teacher A out of school would not be a good move because it then makes their own behaviour as bad as Teacher A's, so they won't have a leg to stand on if they later need to make official complaints/involve governors or anything.

Do not confront Teacher A out of school. That would not help.

As has been said, Teachers B and C need to have a formal meeting with the head. If no action is taken they should take it to the Chair of the Governors. Ultimately if nothing is done Teacher C will be able to resign and sue the school for constructive dismissal.
