Property after Divorce

Split recently with my husband who is now living with his girlfriend, going through Divorce trying to sort out whats best to do with the house, shall i sell and he gets his share, means i will have to move into small place with 2 children out of area from their schools as cant afford to live there as cant get mortgage, on benefits til i can sort my self out and get back into work. Or do i ask to stay in house (jointly owned) so my children can stay in their good schools and be with friends as they are going through enough. I can prob afford mortgage, interest only but means he still has control over me. In my state of mind not ready for upheaval of moving. Would rather stay put for now. Ex is very difficult, not co-operative at all.Any advice please, what are the pros and cons of staying?

You will qualify for legal aid. Get it while it's still there. A message board is no place for you to be seeking advice. Get someone working for you, but the brief answer is you may not have to move out.

what resolution says

these things can be very complicated to sort out and until someone has all the facts about both your and his financial circumstances (and other circumstances) it is impossible to give you any advice

if your ex is being uncooperative that makes it doubly important that you have a solicitor working for you.

good luck

Agree with Resolution. I would add that you do not have to take your children out of their school just because you move out of the catchment area. They have places and those places cannot be taken away.
