With anSGO you should still have some SW support. They should have those details to enable you/them to get copies. I do this as part of my job but haven't done any from abroad.

nymphadora · 29/01/2011 07:20

Sorry just read 2. If you get thebasics( other name etc) you could try the consulate/ foreign office to help?

Mama5isalive · 29/01/2011 16:04

trust me sw have closed and atchived the file, i made contant and she asked me if i knew if they had his copy BC on file????????? how would i know that,he was born in a poorly developed country where alot of fraud goes on so he has so many different names and DOB differs!i have been told he needs to be naturalised! what i dont understand is why didnt the SW and HERTs deal with this before this would cause him so many problems when he is older he is 11 and i cant even get him a free bus pass!

If he is not yet naturalised it is likely that he will not be eligible for a British passport yet. You really need ss to explain to you what his immigration status is in the UK.

SS can't discharge a child on SGO. Don't need regular support but the point is to offer support when needed rather than adoption with no support long term

Mama5isalive · 29/01/2011 23:35

sorry tying on phone - saw spelling mistakes!
The boys dont have a regular SS anymore, and its a shame when i call have to go over everything to the duty SS, which get long doing it over and over, they say they will call back and never do! really feel like they have just "dumped and ran" we get money support but we need other support and dont know where to start! we took DSs together for didnt want them to be split have no prior info on any of this!
just got DSs and support was just gone! cant bear to think of leaving DSs behind!

You can use the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner site to find an accredited immigration adviser.

Hope you can find someobody with the expertise you need!

I am sure someone who has handled (say) international adoptions will have come across this lack of documentation problem before. If your child was born abroad and there's been no formal adoption there will be another set of questions/issues about his nationality and, again, they should be able to advise you.
