Apart from just having a rant about why i don't think the area is suitable!

There are specific grounds on which objections can be made ie not in keeping with the area, parking/obstruction of enemrgency access, trees. Your council website and/or the Planning Portal should explain this in more detail. If you can be objective and express it in those terms then your letter is likely to be more seriously considered.

Get together with like minded objectors. get a petition signed and delivered. point out all negatives, ie increased traffic, loss of ameneties, rope in especially the 'green' issues. We got a methane plant and a building recycling depot stopped. The wind farm is still under review - but that doesnt bother me as it really isnt in my back yard! Grin

The more people who object even for petty little things in my experience the better the chances. One solitary objection however well written is unlikely to succeed. So drum up a bit of support from neighbours etc, even draft a letter for them!

We had some advice from planning aid for a planning application by our neighbour.

They were very helpful and we did manage to get the monstrosity massively reduced in size.

Also, our letter included lots of photos showing what the problems are so that it was really obvious for the committee - rather than relying on the views of one planning officer.
