dds now revealed more info on exp's behavious around dds in october - he was kicking things, pulled dds hair etc - got depressed and anxious and i cut contact - he has been lying low but has now emerged asking to see them. i have texted "needs to be supervised" he texts back "no need for supervision never has been need for supervised"

have court order (issued end 2009) for supervised contact but on judges instructions to progress to unsupervised and this is how it developed - this was unsupervised by mid 2010.

now he wants to see them again (after no contact since end october) they revealing more info with specifics on his assault on dd2 - and their fears he might "attack" again...was much more pf a physical assault than i relaised before...explains dd2 anxiety over "please dont let him pick us up" etc.

presumably i can report to police as parent and then they would send someone to interview dds?

then what happens?

they dont want even supervised contact really.

there have been other incidents reported to police during 2010 eg carer who was supervising with oldest ds (autistic) reported assault on her, police involved when exP "lost" DS1 while in his care twice etcetc.

Yes, I think you need to talk to the police. They will involve Social Services. What a nightmare for you, and your DDs - I'm sorry.

Both the police and social services need to be involved, but IMHO I'd suggest you contact social services first and run the option of going to the police past them. Your daughters may clam up if they think what they say is going to get their dad in trouble with the police.

i've informed social worker (and solicitor) and awaiting their reply.

i think they will talk if explained as they need to give info so as to decide on what contact they should have. that "trouble with police" may mean him getting right psychiatric help (or if they decide he is bad not mad so be it...)

it's been three years since moving out and of assaults (they have witnessed on me), contact centre bla bla bla.

dds said possibly would accept contact again in the contact centre with "someone capable to keep control of dad".

ugh

Contact centres offer supported contact usually, and are not supervised. You'll have to check very carefully which one you use.

PM me which town you live in. I might now a local resource to you.

know

london -local one has diff levels including proper supervised and reported/recorded contact (which is what we used in 2009) but costs £140 per session . cafcass paid last tiem for six sessions. i guess if this gets taken forward then they might pay again?

Only if it involves court proceedings. Might be cheaper for cafcass as they'll have a block contract with the centre.
