Any solicitors out there?

Hi All,
I have put an offer in on a house that is up for sale by an elderly ward of court. Both her solicitor and estate agent have advised her (according to her estate agent) that she should accept the offer, as in their opinion, this is the best offer she is likely to receive in the current market and due to her need to move into a care home. She, however, appears to have said no and that she wants more for the house. In this situation, if her solicitor believes that she should take the offer, what is likely to be their next steps? Does she still have the final say?

I'm not a solicitor, but from a little googling the references to "ward of court" for the elderly all seem to be Irish. It seems that the ward will have a committee of at least two people to make financial decisions on his/her behalf, so I guess her solicitor/estate agent should contact them?

Sorry not to be more help.
