dna, birth certificate question

does anyone know what happens if my partner finds out by dna (arranged through csa) that his ex's daughter is not his can he have his name taken off the birth certificate?! the ex is extremely difficult to deal with and unlikely to agree to doing anything, it seems highly likely hes not her father, though there i guess is a slight possibility, dna test results will be a few more weeks i think but after that if they come back shes not is i want to be able to support him best i can with knowing his rights etc with things like this. she is 7 and he believed she was his when he went on birth certificate but since then things have come to light which mean its extreely unlikely, hence the dna test.

thanks for any help x

Your partner needs to contact the register office where the birth was first registered.

He will need to provide suitable documentary evidence that an error was made at the first registeration of birth, then he will be able to get the birth record changed.
