What is different now we are married?

So, now we are married, do we need to do anything else-tell someone official (obviously the register office know) or whatever? We have two DDs under 4, no assets to speak of and friendly families. My name is still the same, and anyway we don't have passports or driving licences.

Also, is there anything we can do now that we couldn't last week?

Nothing that I can think of, although I had the urge to fill in loads of forms so that I could tick the "married" box! :) I know, such a child!!

Great big congratulations by the way. We've been married just over a year and love married life :)

I think technically you may be supposed to re-register your DDs' births to reflect the fact that you've subsequently married. I'm not sure, though -- register office could advise.

yep, you are supposed to reregister your DDs births

(We did this for our DD, not sure what difference it makes though, other than the fact that she has a new birth cert with mother's name now showing my married name...)

i'm not even changing my name. I think it is more for inheritance purposes- eg if DH suddenly became royalty somehow, the girls could inherit his title. Except they are girls, so probably wouldn't.

We got given the forms for it- we have to sign to say that the children are definitely his, which is a bit odd, considering he is already on the birth certs.

Getting married with invalidate any Wills you may have made.
