Hi

From what I can remember my dads mum had 13 children. (3 sets of twins), my mum had 7 of us, and I have 4.

People seem surprised at times when I say I have 4 children.

What reaction do you get when you mention the amount you have?

Mum2
I'm like you , would have been perfectly happy with 4 boys but have bbgb
I actually find the girl the hardest

Round here I suspect the average is about 2.2.

A friend is about to have a 5th boy and she says I'm one of the only people whose immediate reaction was positive.

I'm really struggling knowing that 4 is it.

I found that my daughter was the easiest as a baby. She just flew through the baby stage. She was more independant.

The boys I find to be more reliable on me during the toddler stage.

Its just so different. The boys are very phyical, my daughter more emotional. She can also be very tough like her brothers if she needs to be.

I would say at our school (Oz) 3/4 is the norm - only children are as rare as hen's teeth! Might have a lot to do with the fact that our school gives pretty generous sibling discounts though.

I have 3, but am pregnant with dc4.

Around here that is a large family. I know a few others with four, but nobody with more than that.

Am I right in thinking the statistic of 1.9 (or whatever it is) children isn't just based on families with children, but women of childbearing age? Are have I made that up? Hmm

I have 6 dcs and just become a sahm as trying to juggle childcare and working plus making sure everyone had clean clothes was a nightmare.

my dcs are 12, 10, 6, 3, 2, and 9mths. I finally 'feel' finished, I can now look at new babies and not get butterflies. I no longer have a sad feeling about not having anymore iyswim

around here, I know a quite a lot of other families with 4+ dcs.

Some peoples reactions to having 6 dcs were nasty others use the 'have you not got a tv?' line, my usualy response to that is there must of been a power cut Grin other people just looked Shock
