Shame they are giving the usual crap that large familys are all weird religious nuts or 'strange'.

RiaParkinson · 11/02/2009 22:15

I nanied for one large family they were so normal and down to earth and the kids were honestly the sweetest fantastically behaved kids you could ever hope to meet.
Normal large families exsist its not a myth!

RiaParkinson · 11/02/2009 22:24

woohoo sleepyeyes!

how many children did they have

OP posts:
sleepyeyes · 11/02/2009 22:31

Not that many 6, one was autistic so he took up a lot of time. They also had dogs, cats, chickens, geese, reptile and they were thinking of getting a horse.
They also had pigs at one point but they ate them.
I'm stuggling to TTC my first but I always imagined I'd have 10 but I'm willing to downsize to 4. DH is suggesting I take up polygamy if I want that many.

muggglewump · 11/02/2009 22:33

I'm sure the Dad in the first family said they get through two crates of baked beans a week. They must eat them for most meals

RiaParkinson · 11/02/2009 22:34

sleepyeyes i have six and fwiw i had 'fertility issues' after i had a gap for a few years after the first three

i ended up having to have follicle stimulation..

i have since had 3 babies and 2 m/c

all the best for your ttc !

OP posts:
RiaParkinson · 11/02/2009 22:35

i thought that mugglewump

i have six and we probably eat beans once a fortnight if that

trumpy house!

OP posts:
muggglewump · 11/02/2009 22:35

Although p'raps he said a month?

I'm fascinated by large families but they just seem so weird to me as someone who only ever wanted one child.

DD is watching with me and she's horrified!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 11/02/2009 22:36

My aunt has nine and if they got through 3 tins of beans a week it was good going.

Thank you Ria hearing that has given me great hope.

Muggle that must be one windy house, do you think they use all that gas as renewable energy.

sleepyeyes · 11/02/2009 22:41

How one earth does he have the energy to do all that shagging! Bet he isn't looking after the 80 odd kids!

RiaParkinson · 11/02/2009 22:45

i think he phibs the shag figures

sleepyeyes · 11/02/2009 22:49

Aww poor little baby.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 11/02/2009 22:50

I don't think I could carry on knowing that you are carrying a gene like that.

RiaParkinson · 11/02/2009 22:50

they seem lovely!

OP posts:
sleepyeyes · 11/02/2009 22:53

I personally dont think I could either especially after loosing 2 kids. But catholics (most of my family are catholic) very much believe in tyhe afterlife and that we will all be together and its a better place to be so maybe they dont feel its final.

They do seem lovely very jolly and lively.
