Have 4, want more!

Keep telling myself we are done and practically we are.....so why dont I 'feel' it.

DH says no more but I've not really tried to talk him into it yet

youngest is 14mths and eveyone said after 1st year the longing would get easier but it hasn't - it's got worse!!!

Don't feel done at all at 40 after 4 CS's and a dh very much against! But have to accept I probably am done whether I like it or not.

Northernlurker · 17/01/2009 00:49

I have three and I feel done. Perhaps that's partly because my oldest is now nearly 11 and my youngest is nearly 2 - maybe the bigger gap helps to wear you out?

chipmonkey · 18/01/2009 16:36

Nah, my ds1 is 12 and ds4 is 8 months, so just as worn out as you, NL!

bubblepop · 25/01/2009 21:19

i felt 'done' after 3. the 4th was a happy accident and im knackered physically. definately feel 'done' now-the thought of more children does not appeal

notmyfault · 25/01/2009 23:53

I have 6,with 7 due in May.I'm always "done" for a few months after the baby's born. Then the sleepless nights pass, you get the urge again.
Think I'll be done when nature itself is done with me.....or I'm carted off

Ceolas · 26/01/2009 14:05

The nausea atm is making me feel like 5 will be out lot!

notmyfault · 26/01/2009 21:59

I'm sitting with my feet up cos my feet are swollen, feel like I haven't slept for a week, aches and pains in places I didn't know were places.I've got 15 weeks to go,so it'll get a lot worse.I'm sure I'll be "done" for a couple of months.Till the next time

RiaParkinson · 26/01/2009 22:05

i wish i felt done

maybe the menopause will do it...or maybe just one more!

Madmentalbint · 27/01/2009 09:10

I wish I felt done too.

It does my head in constantly thinking about a new addition. Especially when DH wont budge! One minute I think 'move on - enjoy what you've got' and the next I'm thinking 'but I neeeed a baby NOW!'

sugarpear · 27/01/2009 09:25

I have 6 and im done! Only felt that after no 6 though. And i was sterilised at dd birth so maybe that helps? But i love babies but really dont fancy doing it all again. Im 36 on saturday and eldest ds is 19 in march so i'll wait for grandkids. Plus dd3 is only 2 1/2 so still at ratbag stage!!

I never thought id feel done. But it does happen.

Madmentalbint · 27/01/2009 09:46

I was booked in to be sterilised a few years back but cancelled the week beforehand. Sometimes I wish I'd gone through with it because then the decision would be made. Deep down I'm glad I didn't though - you just never know!

I think I'm going to have to either get on and have a baby or change direction completely and go to uni or something - otherwise I might just drive myself INSANE!

RiaParkinson · 27/01/2009 14:18

how many do you have madmental?

Madmentalbint · 27/01/2009 14:27

I have just the four at the moment.

DD15, DD13, DS almost 9 and DD7

It doesn't help that my friend gave birth to twin girls this week (her fifth and sixth - lucky thing!).

RiaParkinson · 27/01/2009 14:41

oooh how lovely

great name btw

Pollyanna · 27/01/2009 14:53

I don't think I will ever feel done, but am going to stop at 6 if dh plays ball. I have 5 atm and dh is saying no more.

Everytime I look at these kind of threads from the larger families section, I wonder if we are all mad/selfish etc etc. surely it would be more reasonable to have 2 children?

jellybeans · 08/02/2009 09:02

I have 5 and feel done now. I lost 2 DD late pregnancy and had 2 early m/c, 3 difficult c-sections and extremely complicated pregnancies/births. I feel it's time to stop. I also feel financially and practically, for us, 5 is enough. Also I am knackered!

conniedescending · 08/02/2009 09:08

sorry to hear that jellybeans

I'm still pondering the am I done am I not question.........money is a huge issue at the moment so not the best time but the end to that may be in sight. DH still saying no everytime I even muse on the issue though so no guarantee he'd agree anyway.
