I thought you guys would be the best people to ask!

I'm looking at the Toyota Previa at the moment.

I love our Zafira - moving seats is v easy (no swearing at all!) and we easily fit in 3 children in booster seat, highback booster and rockatot plus Jane buggy, couple of bikes, assorted coats etc on the average weekend. Took us all plus luggage for a week's holiday and Christmas presents to Ireland in great comfort. It's fab.

orevias are amazing! we have one still an it fits everything in it!

Stopfighting · 19/04/2008 12:34

My Chrysler Voyager is the best car I've had. Very roomy with 2 seats in the middle and 3 in the back, allowing movement through the car.

It's so reliable too and great on petrol.

SIL has had a galaxy, zafira and now has a previa. She says the galaxy is the best out of the 3 for driving, comfort and practicality.

Novicecamper · 19/04/2008 12:47

Someone at school has an 07 Galaxy - she had her boot open the other day and there is practically zero space behind the back seats. Rubbish.

phunkiephedora · 18/05/2008 23:39

Kia Sedona ... cheap and cheeful and feels very safe :-) Also fits Phil and Teds in the boot even will all 7 seats filled :-)

disneystar · 25/05/2008 22:59

ive had a galaxy and previa currently got zafira
zafira not good if you need to use all seats
not a new galaxy either for them reasons
no boot space in either
previa loads a room but pricey cars
mazda 5 no boot space either ive checked them all out
reckon my hobby is car showrooms
weve compromised now he drives half kids in zafira
i drive my bmw with 3 kids in

ahhhhh peace and i drive in comfort......

jamila169 · 25/05/2008 23:15

ours is a Kia Sedona - very nice if you don't need all the seats -sadly we do and so usually end up with zero boot space once the tandem's in, we have to a special trip to do shopping,as to fit the shopping in the tandem has to come out!
We're getting rid and looking for a Grand espace or a mercedes vito

bossybritches · 25/05/2008 23:19

I LOVE our Kia Sedona but we are past the buggy stage (thank god)

Yes the boot is tiny with the third row of seats up but we find there is always enough room between/in front/beside seats to cram shopping in.

When we go on holiday we take a topbox too!!

V. Comfortable but you need a mortgage to fill it up!! (but then it lasts for ages)

hertsnessex · 25/05/2008 23:21

we used to have a grand voyager. very nice, but v v expensive to run.

jamila169 · 25/05/2008 23:23

yep we end up with shopping in every nook and cranny if we forget to take the buggy out, only problem is, when we geot home, if all the kids are in the car, DS1 can be guaranteed to stand on either the eggs or the bread lol! We have a Discovery as well which we love, but it's very old and we can't get 3 car seats across and the rear seats face sideways, if we could get a decent TD5 7 seater we'd have one tomorrow

struwellpeter · 26/05/2008 12:37

We have an ancient Galaxy which has been fab. Now it's nearing the end of its life (150,000 miles) will probably replace it with the same. Not a lot of room behind the seats if you have seven passengers but at least the passengers all travel in comfort and as there are six of us we often fold up one seat or take it out.

Best thing has been fuel economy. I always get 600 miles out of a tank and up 650 on a longer run. I think that means about 40mpg. Not sure what the mpg is like on Previas or Voyagers. Does anyone know?

Have tried to persuade dh that maybe we should look at smaller mpvs for the fuel economy reason and the fact that the long drives with 6 of us are in the holidays only and in term time it's usually only me with 1, 2, or 3 others and for short distances. However, he's over 6ft and the dss look as if they are keen to over take him so I don't know we'd fit in a Touran or Zafira.

largerleon · 27/05/2008 21:55

We have a 2001 Citroen Synergie which is fab. Got the 7 seater with the 2 separate seats in the back so when no4 comes along at Xmas we can just stick the extra seat in the back and still have room for all the rubbish, double buggy, shopping, little stroller (depends on who's asleep when we arrive..), etc. Changing bags go under the middle row of seats, drinks & snacks between the 2 front seats. Diesel too and we get about 55mpg which is handy now the prices are going up.
Only downside is when dc4 arrives, dp will have to drive my Peugeot 306 estate to work while I ferry the rest around in the bus. I'll miss my peaceful trips between nursery and work....

Tas1 · 22/06/2008 10:01

We have an Audi Q7 which is OK but I do miss the sliding door on our old car which was a Kia Sedona.

fullmoonfiend · 22/06/2008 10:03

we're getting a bongo - seats eight, flexible seating and you can sleep in it

bambi06 · 22/06/2008 10:05

britax do car seats that only need a lapbelt ..just thought id mention it..
