Hi everyone,

I have a 10 month old baby and a 6 year old. I can't stop thinking about having a third baby. Does anyone have pros and cons? The second was a nightmare due to problems getting pregnant and having miscarriages and a terrible pregnancy. My husband and I always said we would like 3, but I'm unsure. Opinions please. Tia x

Just had my third and loving it! I have a 10 and 7yr old too. They have both been brilliant and absolutely dote on the baby. I was desperate for a third, my husband wasn't particularly but we're all absolutely besotted and so pleased we decided to go for it, he's definitely completed our family. Go for it would be my advice! Flowers xx

I have three. We were unsure about having a third - need bigger car, holidays cater for four, if third would have any health issues that would impact lives of our other two kids etc. I'd had several miscarriages before and between first two. We decided to just not be careful, but not actively try. I got pregnant and had another miscarriage. We decided to try again and now have three.

Knowing what I know now, I sometimes think I shouldn't have had her, but that's more because I've had long covid for nearly two years and know how much of a mum she's missing out on and what her life should have been like. Long covid has aged me decades and I have had to stop work, so she has the financial impacts of that too. She is absolutely amazing though. I wish I had more of 'me' to offer her.

I had 2 DC of 9 and 7 when I fell pregnant with my third surprise baby. He was always an easy DC and has grown up to be the most loving DS. I think 3 DC is a good number to have provided you can afford them.

Not sure what you’re asking exactly but I have three, ages 10 (dd) and two sons age 8 and 4 and we love it. All planned and the third pregnancy was a nightmare, but in the past now. Took us ages to decide though, it seemed like such a big step.

Thanks everyone. I think we're just concerned about not having as much time to spend on all of them equally and we also only have a three bedroom house so don't know how well we could deal with two of them sharing until we can afford a bigger house!

I decided to go for it and am currently pregnant with my 3rd (very early days). I think it really depends on your circumstances. I decided to go for it because my older children (4 and 2) are quite easy-going and in a good routine. They eat well, sleep well, like nursery etc, so a 3rd seems manageable now.
We can also afford a bigger car and have the space etc.
ultimately I think the first 2 years will be really tough, but I'm thinking long term and the gang I want around our dinner table Smile

I have three - all teens now. They're all great kids but three teens is really full on.

I had two children and became pregnant with a third, it was a shock but once I became used to the idea it was OK.

However the third pregnancy was twins! I ended up with a just 5 year old, a 3 year old and twins.

It was very hard work, DH worked long hours and often away. It is not a choice I would have made, but we made it work and they have all turned out OK.
