My husband is 1 of 5 children and 3 of his siblings have children. We have always referred to their husbands as ‘uncle’ for our children. We had a thank you for a baby present, my husband is uncle Dave but I am not referred to as Aunty. Am I wrong to be hurt by this? Do others just use titles for blood relatives or am I right to feel snubbed?

All our siblings and their partners have been referred to as uncle and auntie by our children.

No need to feel snubbed. Families are different.

I'm not a fan of people using aunty and uncle "name" all the time. I just refer to our siblings by their name when speaking to the kids. If they are ever unsure of who I'm talking about (rarely) I will then use the titles. They know our siblings husbands/wives or long term partners as aunts or uncles.
We once had neighbours who referred to me as aunty "name" to their child, I found that really odd as we were not close (I did give child a lift to school once and let her play at our house).

Well I'm in a similar position, my nephew refers to my husband as uncle and me by my name. I've always been privately upset about it especially as my nephew's parents are always referred to as uncle and aunty in our house. I've never said anything but I do understand exactly where you're coming from.

But .... it may also be a genuine mistake if it's the first time. Perhaps give them the benefit of doubt and see how it goes.

How old are the children?
When I first entered DH family the only grandchild started calling me by name.

All the next children born.. call me auntie (name) because they've never not known me?

Did your sister in law have a baby or children already there?
