Maternity Leave - back to back

Hello!
I am currently on maternity leave with my first baby. My company are really good and give us 6 months full pay maternity leave. If I got pregnant now and had my maternity leave back to back I wonder if I would be entitled to the 6months full pay again?

I know this is really a question for my company but I don't want to ask as they will be suspicious!

Has anyone had any experience of a back to back maternity leave? And was you entitled to the same benefits (such as enhanced pay)?

😀😀

I also work for a large company offering 6 months full pay. I am currently on leave with DS and 8 weeks pregnant with number 2.

I checked before becoming pregnant again that I would qualify. They confirmed I would. I’ll be ‘back’ for about 3-4 months between finishing this mat leave and starting the next.

That is good to know! Perks of working for a large company!

Hope you are enjoying your maternity leave 😀

Usually you have to be back for a period of time , 20 weeks before the ewc. However you will have to check the policy

I had 2 babies close together. So returned from Mat leave pregnant, worked for 4 or 5m and left again.

If I recall how much you're paid on mat leave is based on what you earn in what they call the 'qualifying week' which is around 15wks before you're due.

So my understanding is in order to get full pay you'd need to be back and earning in this week in order to get full pay. If you were off and on SMP still then your mat pay would be based on that.

Definitely check policy though.
