Multiple c-sections

I've had 3 children, two by emergency c-sections and one by elcs, and hoping to ttc #4.
Has anyone else had 4 c-sections? How was it?

I’ve had 3. One emergency and 2 elective. was done with having kids after 3 so can’t really advise beyond that. Sorry

Watching for info too

What did they say to you when they went in last time. My consultant said scar tissue was fairly thin and mentioned if I was having another kid I needed to take this into consideration. I said it was fine as I was done. 😂

My consultant asked if I wanted my tubes tied, but didn't seem fussed when I said I wasn't sure we were done. Nobody has said anything about scar tissue. I did get pregnant, but has a missed miscarriage, and the midwife didn't seem to think it was a problem ( the dr after my surgical mamagement made a cryptic comment about being able to try again, but maybe I should think about it after 3 sections, but didn't explain).

I personally have only had 3 c-sections but certainly know people who have had 4. Not sure if it is recommended but I was never told not to have any more children IYSWIM.

I had four sections without any issues. For number three I asked the consultant during the op if a fourth one would be ok, and he said the lining of the womb was a bit thin but he would have no worries doing another one, so I went ahead with DC4.

Rubyroost · 27/06/2020 22:40

@Threnody I would have thought if there were any issues then it would have been mentioned during your c section esp if you had said you wanted another.

I've heard of women having the wound cut the other way when there is multiple scar tissue over the previous area. Cut up the middle, rather than across, but this might not be so popular now. Worth asking about beforehand though including the risk of rupture and complications.

I have had 5 c-sections and everything was fine. I think the hospital staff where very worried though and that made me anxious.
But towards the end of my last pregnancy a nice American doctor told me she knew of a woman in the states who had had 8 c-sections and was perfectly healthy and no complications

Thanks ladies. Very reassuring.

I've had four all went perfectly smoothly. Was out of hospital within 24 hours after my fourth x

Just posted about this as well, I've just come from a appointment at the early pregnancy unit where the consultant who really looked disgusted of me told me in no uncertain terms that I should not try again for a 4th after having 3 previous Csecions bearing in mind she knew no history or asked any questions regarding my Csections she just said you had three it is too big of a risk to you and your health etc to have a 4th CSection I came away quite upset No one has ever said that to me before. 😞
