Convince me that there is a bad idea

Ds1 is 17 months, ds2 is 5 months. Now the longing has hit again. Ds1 was 4 months when i fell pregnant with ds2.

DH goes to uni part time in September as well as working full time. Money would be tight. If we wait until DH qualifies the boys will.be 6 and 7. Too late for a third in my opinion. Although I'm only early thirties now so it would likely be possible.

I'd rather get all kids done in one swoop. We'd have three under 3.

Please convince me this would be a bad idea!

Awesome

Much better for your health to wait too (I had 3 in 4 years and have ruined my pelvic floor).

OP, there’s a “waiting to TTC” thread on here which might be nice to dip into now and then, in the next 18 months :)

I can’t imagine working the schedule either of you will have when dh starts uni Sad. Would you be able to take maternity leave of a year if you did have another, because I can see that being attractive.

RandomMess · 12/08/2018 13:10

Seriously I'd leave it 3-4 years then have another 2 close in age no help me

I have 4 dc and I think you are definitely better off waiting.
In terms of hard work having 1 dc is 100, 2 dc is 150 and then 3dc is 300. That third one really does make a difference.
My friend has 3 dc with the oldest being 3 and her life is so tough, there's no chance to enjoy either baby, just getting through the day.

Little ones don't have to cost much but from about 12 onwards they start wanting more stuff and caring more about it , not content with hand me downs etc. They get even get expensive when they start further education, I'm glad mine were not too close together as helping them all at once with accommodation costs, uni fees etc. would be really hard.

RandomMess · 12/08/2018 15:51

I had 3 in 3 years (eldest one 8 when youngest born) I really would wait for your body to recover and to consider it.

Mine are teens now and it is so expensive even though they don't demand designer, latest gadgets etc. Don't let your hormones rule being sensible!

I found my children really really hard work ages 2-4 when they essentially were dangerous- your aged children are quite easy in the grand scheme of things - perhaps that's just my experience but I couldn't cope with 3 under 3

My aunt had 5 under 5 - nightmare!
