Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their 4th births?
I'm currently 21wks pregnant with number 4 and I'm pretty nervous.
All my previous children were vaginal births and I had a 3rd degree tear with my first.
They were all quickish labours 7hrs, 6hrs and 2hrs.

What were your 4ths like?

My 4th was the only one to come early! Had him in about 2hours, although I couldn't sit down all day Hmm He was smaller than my others and I found that made it a bit harder but other than that it was fine 😊 Good luck!

I am not very nice when in pain, had a row with the midwife with #2 I could only find one position that wasn't agony (epidural only partial effective) so despite meconium they didn't get the continuous monitoring they wanted as I could only tolerate 5/10 mins on my back at a stint Blush

My 4th labour was wierd as contraction’s never became regular- they were sporadic in length and intensity. Because if this no one knew how far I was until second stage started. ( I refused internal examinations). looking back they were very short but intense contractions. More painful than other labours - but was able to cope with g&a for last bit.

Second stage seemed more controlled / but slower than previous labours. ( was still only 20 mins).
2nd degee year like all my others.

Due to sporadic first stage it’s recorded as 5 mins in my notes (because I never got to 3 contractions in 10 mins) however I had called the midwife just over 2 hrs before I actually gave birth and they were with me 90 mins before.

Hope it’s a straightforward labour for you.

( I was also 2 weeks late which totally surprised me - thought I would be early / on time as it was 4th one)
