Changing after swimming lessons

Just wondered what other do. 2 of my dc started swimming lessons this week (6 and 4yrs) leaving me with 1yr old on pool side, can't take the pushchair in with us. How would others go about getting them changed while juggling the the baby? Would it be ok to get a couple of those hooded towels to chuck on them and worry about showers and changing at home.

Snacks are your friend! Baby in playpen (most changing rooms have them) with snacks. Hooded towels on kids hand one a snack (breadsticks and cheese work well). Get other dressed. Then swap snacks. Probably get the older one dressed first so he can wave a toy at baby while you get 4 year old dressed if the baby is restless by then.

I always wrapped baby on my back so i could direct nag showering, dispense shampoo etc before helping to get them dressed.

I use the sling, but frankly large hooded towel sounds like job done.
I shower them at home.

Lots of people change at home, it's fine.
We used to go into the group changing room & lock the door, or use a family changing room (changing village set up rather than male-female only options).

Are you sure the 4yo & 6yo can't sort themselves out? Soap selves up under your instructions in the shower (1yo tucked on your hip I suppose), but then do all changing by selves? 4yo would have to change self in school for PE.

Take crocs and a towelling throw over. Change at home.

Just get them to stick a onesie on and take them home?

SuperBeagle · 26/07/2017 22:21

Ours have always just worn flip flops in summer/slippers in winter, with a towel on and that's it. Couldn't be arsed with the faff of getting them changed at the pool.

ferriswheel · 26/07/2017 22:21

Yes.

I go swimming on my own with my 1, 2 and 4 year old. Onesies are your friend.

And substantial picnics that mean nobody needs a meal when they get home.

Ignore the rude spectators, if any.

Thanks all, will go armed with snacks and onsie/ hood. They can change themselves but it's more a speed issue, and Mr middle child is rather trying at times (wandering around with pants on his head and socks on his hands)

Baby carrier for 1year old?

I used to carry Ds4 on my back, bribe DS3 with snacks and then I'd still have hands free to help DS1&2 (who were the ones having lessons). Flip flops are your friend (avoid socks!)
