Hardest going from 1-2?

I keep seeing on this site that the hardest jump was from 1-2 children. Can I just ask why? Starting to worry a bit as we are hoping to try for number 2 soon and I wonder what I'm letting myself in for! My DD is currently 2.5 years old!

In comparison I think that it was hard because when you already have 2 or more DC's they can keep each other occupied while you are looking after the newborn. Also the younger DC's are used to not being the only child that needs looking after.

I found going from 1 to 2 very hard, DC2 was so different from DC1, my oldest found it difficult and started having temper tantrums. That said, not everyone finds it hard/hardest going from 1 - 2. I found going from 2 - 3 a breeze in comparison.

I found going from 1-2 difficult too, mainly because dd was only 16 months old when ds1 was born.

Can't be so bad as we are now ttc #4 :)

We had a 20 month gap and it was very hard. I see bigger age gaps and that looks more manageable to me. Ultimately though I just wasn't prepared for the sheer hard work (twice as much and no sleep!). My lack of preparation and ignorance that one was easy so two must be let me down big time. Going from 2 to 3 was far easier.

I found going from 0-1 the hardest - the shock! For me, 1-2 was fine. My DS was just under 2 when ds2 was born. Your age gap will be good as your dd is a good age. Ds2 was 17 months when ds3 arrived, which Is a tricky age. The idea of having no. 2 was a lot more daunting than the reality. Go for it!
