Pasta bake is great if you haven't been food shopping for a while. I keep a jar of sauce in my cupboard for emergencies. Just add cooked pasta and any meat you have left over from roast etc. Can use a tin of tuna instead of meat or even do it with just the pasta.

Make batches of meals when your other half is around to help, then you just have to get it out the freezer the night beforehand stick it in the oven for tea. Things like stew, shepherds pie, chicken pie.

Home made pizza is nice for the children to make with you. You can make them super easy by buying ready made bases and bags of grated cheese.

Not so much a recipe, but I bought a Magimix when dd4 arrived so that I could cut onions/veg etc and it saves a lot of time. I can put lots of onions into things like spag bog, tuna pasta bake etc and they cannot tell. In fact, dds are convinced that they hate onions and never have them. Same for red pepper. It is the only time I ever get that smug feeling :-)

Sausages, m ash and beans.

Sausages cooked in oven and frozen mash makes it next Toni effort.

Waitrose do risotto, curry and paella frozen in bags which you literally pour I today roam and stir which are handy to have in freezer.

Buy a steamer too. All veg goes in there and just chuck things like kievs in the oven.

I just managed my first batch cook since dd (4weeks) arrived (dc4)
I made a huge pot of bolognaise type sauce but it can be turned into chilli (ish) by adding chilli beans, so can be used as lots of different meals with the same basic base consisting of mince, onions, garlic, tinned tomatoes plus passata, carrots and red lentils. I also added a green pepper and mushrooms to this batch as I had some in fridge. Burritos for tea tonight but I will get another 4 meals out of it which I'll freeze in portions.
Looking forward to hearing other peoples ideas
