Sure this has been done before but hey ho.

We have 2.5yrs between DC1 and DC2. We're discussing a third, and having a smaller gap (just under/around 2yrs if all works out).

Most 3-child families I know have larger gaps between DC2 and DC3 than between DC1 and DC2.

Is there a reason for this? Is this better? Does it make life incredibly hard having a relatively small gap between the two youngest??

We have 23 months btw DS1 and DS2 and 3 years btw Ds2 and DS3.

We were trying for 10 months with DS3 though so were going for a similar 2 year gap and not a larger one.

We always planned for small age gaps and 3 was the maximum we really wanted so that DS1 wasn't hugely older than DS3 but had just started reception and it turned out we had two terms and the summer before DS2 started nursery.

We have 19months between DS and DD1 and then 21months between DD1 and DD2. So there is less than 3.5 yrs between the eldest and youngest. It is crazy and chaotic having all three at home.

It is really lovely to see DS and DD1 play together, they are the best of friends. I can already see that DD2 is being absorbed into the gang. She's 9 months now and enjoys many of the same outings and activities as the big ones do.

I have found that three pregnancies so close together have taken their toll on my body though. I had two elcs. I have been bfeeding and pregnant for what feels like forever, and have not had a full night's sleep in over 4 years.

Still, we would love another DC and plan to have a small age gap once again. (Mainly because I am old!)
