At it's worst I had 6 under 8, That was mental. Actually it's harder now that they're getting all teenagerish. Many congrats to youSmile

Insane but I am jealous. DP says we cant start TTC #3 until next year!! I'll have 3 under 5.

Lozario · 20/07/2012 21:04

stealth be careful what you wish for!!! Grin another Envy here - we don't have the room for another yet. You seem so über-capable though you'll be fine Grin

mrsmopsmissingmojo · 20/07/2012 23:15

I had 3 under 4, then 4 under 8, then single mum, then 5, under 12...actually it's no harder the more I've had.

foolonthehill · 20/07/2012 23:26

4 under 5...hard work but great!!!!

Fresh01 · 24/07/2012 18:55

As mad as me! We have 4 under 6 and all were planned. 6 months on it has been busy but with any more than 2 you are busy anyway : ) main thing that noticed the difference was the poor washing machine! Watching them all interact makes it all worthwhile. Rather than less attention DC4 gets heaps as there is always something to happening to watch or someone to entertain her.

Not mad to had 4 close together but don't wish for twins! I had a 4yo and a 3yo and I am a loads of energy, love children always have other people's over for the day, baking etc looked at as supermum by others and having the twins absolutely destroyed me for 2 whole years. I could not actually practically care for them all and needed help which was a nightmare and it isolated me completely from my friends and now I have absolutely no social life. I sit at home all day apart from the school run, if I go out with the babies (2 1/2) we are always by ourselves and I feel like my life has changed hugely and I am very lonely. When the others were small I was out every day with a mum group. No I feel I have no energy to make new friends. If it is twins you might need some help, it is HARD!!

Nice to have singletons close together though!

Melindaaa · 24/07/2012 20:30

Close together is good, but don't under estimate the effect of twins on your life.

I have twins who are two now, and while they are lovely and I wouldn't (often!) send them back, it's a million times different from having singletons. Its a raw subject after the day I have had with them, but I feel like I can't enjoy anything because of them. It's physically impossible to care for twins to the same degree as only one baby/toddler.

loverofwine · 06/08/2012 09:25

I completely agree with everyone about twins. I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Don't get me wrong, I love mine more than anything but they were VERY hard work and singleton (or rather serial singleton) parents just don't get it and mostly can't give the support or practical help needed.
But in terms of 4 under 6 - go for it. I had 4 under 5 (twins then two singletons) and it's been hard but wonderful.

duchesse · 06/08/2012 09:35

My friends had 5 under 2y1m (twins & triplets). They were and are extremely organised.

Jessie1989Kindle · 24/08/2012 16:42

NotShortImFunSized · 25/08/2012 11:54

Wow huge congrats Stealth Grin

You aren't mad yet Wink

2 years ago I had 5 dc's aged 8, 6, 3, 2 and newborn. I thought I was totally mad too!

It's been hard work but a lot of fun. You'll be fine!

I've also just found out I'm very unexpectedly pregnant with number 6 Shock So by the time he/she arrives I will have 11, 9, 5, 4, 3yr olds and a newborn.

Hey ho, the chaos can't get any worse, right?!

NotShortImFunSized · 25/08/2012 11:56

No they weren't that age they were 8, 6, 2, 1 and newborn!

(I blame the child addled brain)

Babieseverywhere · 20/09/2012 14:23

Congratulations :)

My lot were 5, 4 and 2 when DC4 arrived and we survived. Six weeks later DC1 had a birthday, so now we have a 6, 4, 2 and a newborn who is asleep on my knee. Tis busy and a lot of fun.

orangeberries · 22/09/2012 19:41

We had 4, my eldest was 4 when our fourth child was born!!

It was mental and stressful at times. However now that my youngest is 3 I really do love the small age gaps as they are all friends and able to play together.

Not for the fainthearted though!!
