We are thinking of trying for a third baby. We have a DD age10 and DS age 6.

Its something ive wanted (on and off) for a long time but DH never did...until now

So has anyone got any advice or stories to help me? The more positive the better although I know there ate downsides too Smile

We have 3! Mine are 7,5,3 so was v busy when youngest was first born.

Love it!

Is loud, noisy, masses of mess. But great fun.

Enjoy!

Our third is 18 months old and a wee star. Always felt family wasn't complete until she came along and now it's just perfect. Hectic sometimes and definately noisy but definately worth it.

Good luck Smile

Have 3 - aged 7,5 and 5 weeks. It's a joy ( apart from the lack of sleep) when the older ones at school it's like having a PFB Smile

I just had my 3rd yesterday Grin so I can't really add anything positive to the thread yet but I couldn't resist telling you! Grin

I have 2 dd's age 4 & 19 months & my new ds. I'm under no illusion that it's going to be easy but I feel complete with the 3 of them. Smile

mamasmissionimpossible · 25/05/2012 21:30

I have 3 aged 6,4 and 13 weeks. It's great, but I am exhausted with the lack of sleep. I'm so glad we decided to go for dc3 :)

sweetkitty · 25/05/2012 21:35

You'll be fine 3 is fab mine wee 4 and 2 1/2 when DD3 came along, she is an utter joy.

She is so lovely we just had to have a fourth, DS is now 2 Grin

That's the only thing about 3 odd number might as well have 4 Grin

I had twins first so for us it was a big step to go for no. 3. DH wasn't so sure, esp. as recession had just started biting and we had no money. Still have little dosh, but we do have a gorgeous little girl who is everyone's favourite and completed our family. We are busy, but it's fun Grin

Three was so nice, so we decided to have another!

EyeoftheStorm · 26/05/2012 21:53

Mine are 8, 6 and 3. We walked through fire for DS2 who was born at 30 weeks and he is so loved by us all. When I see the three of them sitting in a line on the sofa I know our family is complete.

The three of them have moaned a bucketful today as well. Let's not go overboard.

septembersunshine · 03/06/2012 07:59

I have three - 5, 3 and 2 and it's hard work but for some reason the third one makes life compleate and we wouldn't be without her. You have nice age gaps there so will really get to enjoy thouse baby/toddler years with your 3rd.

mollycuddles · 03/06/2012 08:05

I have 3 - 14,11 and 2
The third one was planned because I and dh just felt we needed a third. She's brilliant and the older two adore her. I have enjoyed the baby and toddler stage much more this time and stress less than with my first two. We might go for number 4 because we are having so much fun

AGreenie · 03/06/2012 08:08

Mine are 5,4 and 9months. Oldest 2 are at school so I get to spend the days with my youngest DD. I did want 4 but DP wanted 2 so we compromised - very happy with 3, the older 2 adore her (as we all do), and it's meant that I get to spend more time with 1&2 doing the school run etc which has been great for all of us!

lilbreeze · 03/06/2012 22:42

I have 3 aged 4, 2 and 3 weeks. Early days at the moment but I feel so much more relaxed third time round. Also the older two are over the moon to have a baby sister Smile

Northernlurker · 03/06/2012 22:55

Dd1 was 9 when dd3 was born. dd2 was 6. I love it. I love the spread of ages. I love the 'gang' feeling. I love the way the big girls are protective of dd3, I love the way she adores them. Don't get me wrong - there are some bumps in the road - toddlers and pre teens are an interesting mix sometimes but overall it's fantastic. I'm so glad we decided to have a third. I was only 21 when dd1 was born and I think that if we'd stopped at 2 I would be feeling very 'incomplete'. As it is I never have a moments broodiness.

PerimenopausalMyArse · 04/06/2012 05:34

I'm a massive fan of big gaps. DS1 was 10 and DS2 5 when DD came along and they both adored her. I've also had no babysitting issues since DS1 turned 13 Grin. There is something about having three that makes it feel like a nice, big family. DD wasn't planned by has brought nothing but joy to everyone's life from the day she was born.

iMoniker · 04/06/2012 06:07

I have three 11, 7, 5. To be honest, I find it very hard work.

It seems as if there is never a time when at least one of them isn't unhappy about something. Trying to balance the extra-curricular activities as they get older also becomes very challenging.

Yes, I love them dearly and they are a joy, but if I had my time again, I would only have three if I could guarantee myself a few years out of the workforce (I work full time and have done so since DC3 was 14 months old).

ShellyBobbs · 06/06/2012 23:58

Mine are 12, 10 and 7 and having three is absolutely brilliant! They are very close and really all look after each other. I felt very complete and content with 3 and in March found out number 4 is on the way, they are so excited and the younger 2 are coming to my 16 week check tomorrow to listen to their little brother / sister's heartbeat.

It must have been hard work when they were little but I honestly can't remember, and I was quite ill until my youngest was about 2! There again I don't stress about things like housework. I have worked 24 hours a week with all three and worked full time when I had the 2. I get a little help with childminding (about 2 hours a week) but nothing else, but I find it a joy and have loved every minute of it.

BadRoly · 07/06/2012 00:00

Our 3rd was such a dream and lulled us into such a false sense of security we went on to have a fourth!
