hi im a mum to 6 want to be mummy to 7 !
my DH works full time , we own our own home , and have been married for 11 years in june .
BUT all mine and his family have TOLD us "dont you dare have any more"
but i really want another baby , i just love been pregnant , giving birth and breast feeding .
we dont ask for any help off any one , i can count on one hand how many times we've been out on our own in the last 11 years . should we listen to every body else or go with OUR hearts ??
i just dont want people to reject our baby , and im scared of how many " OH NO'S" we'll get instead of congrates .

i dont just loves babies ,

i love the hole package , watching them grow , who they will all be . i carn't wait to cook sunday lunch for all my grown children and there children , i will be the proudist mum / grandma.
and my older children , DO NOT parent there younger siblings ,( i possible ask them to pass me a baby wipe from time to time) if anything im allways been told i do to much for the older ones , i love to be busy !! i carn't sit still , and to me ( this will get me some more stick ) children ARE NOT hard work ,we have a great night time routine, they all sleep through the night and have since 4 to 6 weeks of age!!
i do 2 loads of washing a day and love sorting out there out grown colths , it brings back lovley menories .
we dont have familiy days out every weekend but we do at least once a month , we enjoy going to the pictures, bowling , going to the seaside , football matchs.
they all do out of school actitives too .
i
we ( me and DH) can provid for them should it really be a problem ??

i asked all my children one to one " do you feel unloved because theres 6 of you ?" they all answerd NO , "i love you mummy and you love me and i love all my bros and sis's" . with the exception of my 11 year old who said " yes because you wont buy me a tiger" just proves how spoilt he is . lol

p.s sorry for the spelling , i hope you dont judge me as a person on my tpying grammer , im a bit old school .

i posted this on the pregnancy page ! BIG mistake .

Why not link to your old thread?

Op, you sound lovely, and so does your family!!

jasperJohns · 23/01/2012 20:51

OP - you asked a question and on such a divisive topic, you can expect a cross section of opinions. On a parenting forum, this is obviously contentious.

If you want loads of kids and can afford them - good luck to you.

Vickles · 24/01/2012 18:43

It's not just about love Mum6Mum.... It's also about being able to cope for the kids you already have... We all get 'watered down' the more kids we have.. but going to 7 is bonkers! And, kids get harder the older they get! Are you really able to fund 7 driving lessons/tests.. 7 tuition fees for college... 7 house deposits when they want to buy a house.... ?? And, treat them all the same?

I think 6 sounds lovely... mad, but lovely. (I have 3 - and sometimes would like the thought of a 4th.) 6 is a nice, round number. finito!

You've asked for opinion, so I'll give mine.

Why have anymore? Other than purely selfish needs, obviously. I can totally understand going from 5 to 6... even numbers and all that. And, why ask your kids about it? You seem to be desperately asking for permission to go ahead.

I think you're crazy to keep going, as I have the feeling that you won't stop at 7 kids.... . And, people locally to you, I fear, will feel the same.

I, too, would just love to keep going. I understand your need to be pregnant, to give birth and to go through that magical wonderfulness of new babies... but, BUT.... they grow up! Yes, into wonderful characters and mini you and your hubby's..... BUT ENOUGH ALREADY!

I don't mean any offense in what I've written Mum6mum.... You wanted opinions, and I've given it.

I wish you well with whatever you and your family decide what is right for you all.... but, be prepared for negative reactions.

Bunbaker · 24/01/2012 18:47

If you like children so much why don't you foster? You don't need to give birth to look after them. There are far too many children with tragic backgrounds who need the kind of lioe and care you are prepared to give. You sound like an ideal person to be a foster parent.

mum6mum · 25/01/2012 07:46

iv looked into fostering but theres some much red tape ! your youngist has to be 3 , they carn't share rooms with children so many years older than them !
but it is defo what im doing when mine are grown , but not babies teenager's , theres not enough people fostering them , and i feel teenagers get a really bad ride .

If you want another baby, you go for it!
If you can afford it and your hubby is up for it, you don't need permission from anyone!

Vickles: your comments are harsh! If we raise well rounded children with high self esteem and a good work ethic then they can get a weekend job to fund driving lessons if they want to learn. Thy can also work hard and save hard for a deposit on a house. If we give out kids everything on a plate they will never know the value of money.

anyway, go for it and good luck!

thankyou scross7 , that was my thinking , i never had driving lesson paid for or any higher education , and worked from the age of 13 in a oap home for my pennies , and im hopeing all my children will and want to do the same .
it never hurt me , or my DH who also had to do the same .

"Are you really able to fund 7 driving lessons/tests.. 7 tuition fees for college... 7 house deposits when they want to buy a house.... ?? "

Hmm I don't think the above are obligatory (at least I hope not).

"Why have anymore? Other than purely selfish needs, obviously."

Why does anyone usually have a baby. Because they 'selfishly' want one, maybe?

itsonlyyearfour · 26/01/2012 23:40

Also laughing at the driving lessons and tuition fees & house deposits comment!

I don't know many people who had all those paid for or who can afford them, even with two children!

It is certainly not part of the package and should not be expected even if the parents can afford it - I would like to see my children save their own house deposits, like we did!!!
