Worried about family reaction to another pregnancy...

Firstly - I am not pregnant yet...my husband has told me that he really does want another baby and although I was dead set against it a year ago (he nearly had the snip!) I am now clucky as hell and have been for six months... We have three lovely boys already aged 8.5, 6 and 3.5...I just know our family will be either disappointed in us...or pity us (trying for a girl)...and my dad will be plain rude and say I won't be able to handle it! I know it shouldn't matter but it does...at the end of the day I will be needing some family support if we go for this...thoughts/comments/same boat? much appreciated.

you may still have another boy, how many more will you have to try to have a girl? I have 2 boys and wont have anymore. Of course its up to you just my opinion.

IMO its absolutely YOUR (and DHs) choice and i would tell all those saying mean or negative comments to fuck right off bugger offSmile
if you want another baby, regardless of your motivations, have oneSmile i only have one DD and i would LOVE to have 3 or 4 but its not happening for me (medical condition etc) so i say go for itGrin kids are magic!

if it's right for your family then go for it. My mum called me a silly cow when i told her i was expecting no. 4, she loves her now she is here!

If you both want to, go for it, but don't rely on family help. Only do it if you can cope yourself. I don't think it's fair to expect help from grandparents, if they are not up for it or not able for any more deep involvement with further grandchildren. If they can't or don't want to support you, can you survive without it?

If you can and you want another, go for it.

im a mum to 6 and our family all said the same after having baby number 4 but we went for our 5 th ,also wanting a girl and got her :) they all her love her to bits .
when baby 6 came along we got a lot of oh nos , but same again they all love her and wouldnt be with out her ( yippie 2 little girls ) .
im now wanting baby 7 and im dreading peoples reaction . we've spoke to all the family and now they say, you'v coped well with 6 im sure 7 would be fine ( we dont ask anything of our familes) i soppose they all just expect it . i said from a young age id allways love 7 , and have been very lucky .
go for it :) you live life once , it should be happy with no regrets .

Thanks for all your comments...I think mollydoggerson you're right about not expecting family help...tbh we only see my side of family once every couple of months as we live so far away and hubbies about once every three weeks as a bit nearer - PILs do have them for o/nights and weekends sometimes so that's what my concern is and you are right to suggest that we shouldn't expect it - as we don't now. We would be very happy with another boy - we are very lucky with the three we have. I would love to have a daughter too though and I suppose we've got to be realistic...hence we're not trying yet just milling over it the past four months! We love having a big family and mum6mum good luck with your brood - wow! That's amazing. :o
