I look at my baby and think how could I NOT want to do this again?

My youngest DD is 20 months. (I have 3 DDs). I keep looking at her (she is scrummy) and think how could I not want another baby? Smile

Does anyone else feel like this? When does the broodiness stop? Confused

There are so many reasons not to have just 1 more but its so tempting. Grin

GeorgeWBush · 18/11/2010 14:11

me too.

DD2 is 7mo, she's been INCREDIBLY hard work but she is the most adorable little thing.

I've got 3dc, 3 is enough but I'm so broody.

Ragwort · 18/11/2010 14:14

errr...........no - I only think 'I would never do this again Grin'

DaisySteiner · 18/11/2010 14:16

I'm not sure broodiness ever does go away for some people, but I just got to the stage where I decided I couldn't be the mum I wanted to be if I had any more. As they've got older and you get rid of the pushchair, nappies and baby paraphenalia the idea of getting it all out again seems less attractive!

cazzybabs · 18/11/2010 14:22

the broodiness stops when the husband puts his foot down ... just had my 4th (I always said I wanted 4) ... now I am thinking 5 is not such a bad thing! But money, bedrooms, time with each child - sigh! Think I need a new richer husband

Charliebrown1 · 22/11/2010 21:03

My first baby is 7 months tomorrow and I am desperate to have another baby!!! Is this normal? Everyone else thinks I'm mad :) I've always wanted 4 children.

mamatomany · 26/11/2010 22:44

My DC4 is 5.5 months and I look at him and think I am going to cherish every moment because you are the last.
And that's a nice feeling actually, with the first 2 at least i wished their lives away wanting them to wean, walk, talk go to school.
Now I want to freeze time and keep them under my wing.
Charliebrown1 - don't be in any rush, enjoy each child.

sweetkitty · 26/11/2010 22:53

mamatomany - oh I could have written your post word for word except DC4 is 6 months and out last, and he is growing far too fast I so want to slow it all down and just enjoy being with them all.

When DD3 was about 3 months it was DH who kept saying we need to do it again and I took all of about 2 mins to be convinced. For a number of reasons DS is our last, 4 is a good number, we are struggling with them and 5 would just be too many, but babies are just great aren't they I can see why people have loads Grin

mamatomany · 26/11/2010 23:00

I do find 4 hard going, which has really surprised me i don't know about you SK but it didn't think it would make much difference, in for a penny and all that.
Every stage from the first three months sickness, to the birth, newborn bit I have thought loved it but never again.
I truly feel done in Grin

I'm with Cazzy
DH had the snip when I was pregnant with numbver 4
hes 19 months and I still look at him and yearn. though brain tells me husband is sensible

sweetkitty · 27/11/2010 18:48

Exactly the same mamatomany, 4 has been really hard, he's as rubbish sleeper which doesn't help. We feel totally finished now as well, I have rubbish pregnancies and it's not fair to the other ones.

greenbeanie · 13/12/2010 12:41

I know exactly what you mean, I always wanted 3dc. I now have a 4 week old dd and 2 ds's aged 5 and 8. I hate being pregnant and had a really miserable time in addition to having big babies, dd was 11lb11!!

BUT, I just look at her and think I cannot believe that was last the time I shall be pregnant, hold my newborn, breastfeed and give birth. I'm sure it must be hormonal but it feels so real this need to have another. DH thinks I am mad having moaned throughout pregnancy about how awful it was and talked about him going for the snip. Hopefully it is just a passing phase.....

perpetuallypregnant · 15/12/2010 23:27

DH nearly had the snip when DD3 was born (DC4) but I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to go for the implant instead...

Well... in the 3 weeks it took for the appt to come through I got pregnant!

DD3 is now 7 months and I'm 20 weeks pregnant with DD4!

Love it, if I wasn't already pregnant I know I'd be broody. I really don't know when it stops but I do know that DH really must have the snip after this one. Five children is definitely enough for us!!
