I have just found out i'm pg with dc5. Its been a very big shock as we didn't want anymore children. Have had a long chat with dp and we are going to continue with the pg but I am terrified, mainly how on earth I will cope I have 4ds who are 7,6,4 and 8 months. I am really worried how people will react when we tell them and also the practicalities of having 5. We live in a 3 bed semi and moving is not an option at the moment. Financially we should be ok at the moment but it is still a worry. We had so much planned for next year getting married in august and then 2 week honeymoon, I had just applied to start an MA in September. I just can't believe it's happening to be honest. Can anyone give me some insight into life with 5 children in particular 5 boys as I am fairly certain it will be another boy.

hi I currently have 5 children, five months ago I found out I was pregnant with no. 6 I was shocked and tbh didn't want another child, I originally wanted 4!
My youngest is just 1 and when she was born I honestly found having 5 not much different to 4, don't worry about how people will react I have had to deal with this a lot especially at work, this time round people actually rolled their eyes! At the end of the day it your life, and you will love this child. I too have a busy year next year, and now plans will have to be slightly changed. In regard to your MA you may be able to still do this, sometimes they offer flexible schemes.
Don't worry too much, I'm sure things will work out :)

I have 5 aswell, 3 DSs and 2 DDs. I LOVE it. However, we thought DC5 would be easy since we already had 4 and also because the last pregnany was twins..DC 3 &4. He was born with severe reflux and was in/out of hospital, the first 6 months were horrendous. I have never known sleep deprivation like it (most nights we got 20 mins sleep) and trying to do school runs etc was awful. Thankfully he grew out of it just over 18 months and since then we have really enjoyed it. I was just shocked as presumed everything would be easy with number 5.

The older ones love having a little brother. The house isn't much more chaotic really now that he is well. We only have 3 beds too and we have a small room (much bigger than boxroom) the boys share and girls do, no probs, the little one is in our room until old enough to be with his brothers.

I was worried about what people would say aswell but everyone was lovely. I also deffered studying as was part way through a degree, luckily OU so it was easy to do that. Loads of luck, you will be fine
