Just so sick of it. Every time I blink there seems to be another thread asking about Israel and Palestine.
usual narrative of Israel = bad and Palestine = good.
Besides people bending over backwards talking about “geo-politics” we all know that most of it is thinly veiled antisemitism.
Why oh why is it allowed?
Anyway, I’m off visiting family this weekend so I’m looking forward to that. And all the other Jew haters can just leave us alone as I have nothing else to say! Refocusing my energy on positive thoughts.

Familiar user names popping up on current post in CIME.

I really don’t know how much more targeted Israel could have been with attacking terrorists but it turns out it’s still not enough!!! I wonder why.

The logic of some posters on that thread beggars belief and really calls into question the already shaky credibility of certain obsessive CITME 'contributors'. The knee-jerk reaction and insistence that anything Israel does must be a war crime.

That thread is crackers. I love (not actually, obvs) the way it went from "It was an indiscriminate attack!" to "OK it was a targeted attack! Why couldn't they do that in Gaza then huh??!!"

Also the poster trying to suggest that the Druze children killed not long ago probably identified as Syrian...what's that all about? There's an agenda there but I don't know what it is.

Hélène79 · 18/09/2024 12:14

Someone has just explicitly claimed Hezbollah are not terrorists. That poster's agenda is clear I reckon so not sure why HQ aren't taking action.

Completely unacceptable how few people are pulling her up on it too.

Hélène79 · 18/09/2024 12:30

It's been a slow-build all morning but at least she got there in the end.

JaneDoeHere · 18/09/2024 14:25

Catching up a bit on that thread. Is it just me that can see some posters are clearly quite disappointed there are not more civilian deaths? It’s usually a numbers game for them but the lack of innocent deaths here is definitely annoying them.

I fear the above may come across clumsily written so I hope some of you can see what I mean! Obviously, I don’t want innocent people to b caught up in it.

I can’t get my head around how some think these were mass explosions taking down whole shops etc…

Yes, it's very blatant and also grotesque.

Humdingerydoo · 18/09/2024 15:01

I find it fascinating how when it's something Israel is accused of doing, they'll assume the victims are all innocent until proven otherwise (and even then they'll often still assume the victims were innocent 🙄).

They will also literally always believe the worst of Israel no matter what. When Iran was firing rockets and killed a child in Israel? Well, these things happen in war and really it was all Israel's fault and anyway, Iran were targetting military bases. It's not their fault the rockets didn't hit the targets. Same with the 12 Druze children in northern Israel - how quick were posters to say Hezbollah were targetting a relatively nearby military base, they didn't mean to hit civilians and it's basically Israel's fault for having military bases in the first place. When two children die in Lebanon? It's Israel's fault and they were obviously targetting civilians 🙄 They could have been more precise if they'd wanted to.

Not sure how you can be more precise than targetting individual terrorists but hey ho.

Ugh.

This is a neat summary of the rant I had at my DH at breakfast time! And I hadn't even read the CITME board at that point 😉

Because to accept that different groups live happily in Israel and are loyal to Israel causes cognitive dissonance ..

Humdingerydoo · 18/09/2024 20:23

"“We strongly condemn the renewed and ongoing Zionist aggression against the brotherly Lebanese people,” Hamas says in a statement, adding that the attacks “now threaten the security and stability of the region.”"

Quoted from a times of Israel article.

I actually can't stop laughing at the idea Hamas are saying Israel is threatening the security and stability of the region 😂😂😂 I mean, fucking hell have they no self-awareness?

JaneDoeHere · 18/09/2024 20:31

self-awareness?! Don’t be ridiculous! Ha.

Reading that thread has almost done me in. There's been some valiant posting by some people with actual knowledge and understanding of war, genocide (what it is and what it isn't), the meaning of the word 'indiscriminate' and current affairs but unless we happily walked into a gas chamber and pressed the 'on' button ourselves, some people will never be happy.

25milesfromhome · 19/09/2024 01:15

That's just it isn't it? We keep refusing to occupy our allotted space in the western saviours' matrix of oppression (helpless, stateless, pitied, dead) and the rage is palpable. The insistence that there must be a day of reckoning on the way for the "Zionists" and the only thing we're worthy of is punishment for refusing to lie down and die speaks of some very disturbing attitudes.
