Which S&S ISA in 2025

I’ve just started using my ISA allowance this year and have decided to put some in Kent Reliance Easy Access and the rest in an S&S ISA for the first time. I’ve got 2 existing cash ISAs but am looking for recommendations in funds that have done well.

Have seen recommendation for Worldwide trackers, Global index funds that are passive and S&P500 tracker funds. Vanguard has been mentioned but I think they only have their own products and I need to choose a platform with low fees - I’ll be doing some general reading up during the week.

I’d like to start with a lump sum and maybe add to it bit by bit and just leave it to do its thing … any recommendations?

Vanguard fees are not so good now for smaller investors, but their funds are available on other platforms.

I'd not go for S&P or anything else that's all-in on the US just at the moment. Fully global, or global with a slight overweight to the UK (to reduce currency fluctuations).

Passive tracker funds are almost always cheaper than active.

Do you want all equities, or some bonds as well (tend not to grow as fast, but aren't as volatile)?

Trading 212 is free and does both a very good flexible cash ISA at a good rate and a S&S ISA in which I think you can invest in Vanguard funds amongst others. You can take money out of the cash ISA and put it back in within the year as it's flexible. The interface is a bit clunky but OK for free.

Thanks for the replies and the link

@NoBinturongsHereMate I think i'm going to avoid the S&P for now and will also look into bonds as was initially looking at all equities

@Theyreeatingthedogs I'll look into Trading 212 as I know itas a popular platform

What does anyone think of Moneybox S&S ISA? I'm a complete novice to this.

Not much. They charge a fee and %age fees. The more you have in the account the more they charge you. Charges are very important in overall returns. I wouldn't use them

@Theyreeatingthedogs Thanks. I'm clueless about finances but would like to invest £20,000 this tax year in a S&S ISA. Need a really simple, easy to set up one that doesn't need any input on my part. Are there any you could recommend?

Money box have relatively high fees for no discernible benefit

mine is with interactive investor, no account fees at all for the first year across SIPP/ ISA . Even at the end of the year they are competitive on large amounts as have a set fee, although I might still move.

look at fees and decide the product you want to invest in, go from there

Trading 212 is the best if you are not tempted by the CFD side of the platform.
Dodl by AJ Bell isn't bad as it has the essentials sometimes less choice is good keeps things simple.
