Pay ISA charges separately or not? Quick question!

Investment people…

Is it more cost effective to pay your ISA charges directly and without allowing the ISA company to liquidate a tiny bit of from the investment? Or not? Is there a rule of thumb?

Are you investing with an IFA or doing it yourself? Usually fees are taken directly from the platform that your assets are held on so would come from within the ISA wrapper. Theoretically it would be better to pay them separately but it can be a hassle to stay on top of it.

Thanks @ nervous well I’m using vanguard so no IFA.

so are you saying it’s cheaper…? Logically it would seem to be cheaper but idk ?

Better to pay separately as you don't want to have a contribution count towards your annual subscription allowance and then not stay in your ISA. If they offer an opportunity to pay separately by direct debit, that's best.

Separately. So assets are not sold.

Vanguard send the invoice quarterly and take payment by direct debit.
