£500 per month

I plan to leave in 2 years time when my youngest starts high school and am building my FU fund. I have figured out I can save approx £400-500 per month. At the moment I am using a separate bank account to do this but there must be a better place, I'm not finance savvy and know little about savings, having never had the ability to save before. Is an ISA the thing? I want low risk and easy access. Any advice very much appreciated

Have a look at With Notice accounts. You could put some there but I would not put all there as you want to have instant access to some money.

Cash ISA products might be suitable, check the rules on access.

Nothing will pay much interest, you may get 2%.

You don't want to invest the money as you know you need it in under 5 years time.

Premium bonds another option given pitiful interest. But if you win big remember you may have to share it...

Are you married OP? If so, any funds (even an FU fund) will be joint assets of the marriage and will need to be disclosed on divorce. Think carefully as the value of this might be offset in a divorce settlement.
